In the latest episode, I sit down with Jason Sanderson, Golf Course Superintendent at Cherokee Country in Knoxville, Tn. We had a great discussion and Jason does an excellent job at Cherokee. I had the pleasure of playing the course with Jason after the taping and it was in outstanding shape.
We had our conversation on location at the University of Tennessee Turfgrass Field Day 2019 and we talked about the different things he has going at Cherokee and his path and career highlights.

In this episode, I was on location at the University of Tennessee at Knoxville Turfgrass Field Day 2019 and I sat down with Jason Pooler, President of Tri turf Sod. Jason discussed the sod business and how they started as a little 5 acre farm to over 900 acres currently. Jason is also the President of the Tennessee Turfgrass Association and we discussed some of what that requires. Jason was involved in providing some of the sod for research at field day and does the majority of work for many local pro, college and sports teams as well as many golf courses.

In the latest episode, I had the pleasure of talking with Bill Blackburn. Bill is the General Manager of Tennessee Business for Smith Turf and Irrigation (STI).
One of the many special things about doing this podcast is it allows me the opportunity to interview professionals in the industry who I have known and respect and that have been a huge contributor to my success and has been a friend as well. Bill is an excellent example of that and was on a very short list of people that I wanted to have on. And I'm so glad he agreed to do it.
Bill discusses his career, how he got to STI, his passions in life and some of the many things that have helped him along the way. One of his biggest contributions is the development of the Lightning Bug Golf Course and the impact it has on TN Junior golf. I hope you enjoy this story and my conversation with Bill.

In the latest episode, I had the honor of sitting down with the former golf course superintendent at Atlanta Athletic Club, Ken Mangum. We talked about Ken's career, his path to getting to AAC and who influenced him along the way. We talked about the career as a Golf Course Superintendent and the difficulties and challenges that come with the profession. I also discussed the new Zoysia grass options for greens and what his thoughts were about zoysia as an option for greens.
We had a great conversation and this was one I will truly cherish. Ken talked about what its like to have employees move on in the business, being inducted into the Georgia Golf Hall of Fame and what it's like to prepare for Major Golf Championships.
I know you are really going to enjoy this one. I know I did.

In the latest episode, I sat down with James McNair. James is a singer/songwriter in Nashville, TN. This episode was so fun. James is the son of a Golf Course owner and we talked about golf, golf course ownership, being around golf, how golf played a roll in him moving to Nashville and ultimately followed a dream of becoming a singer/songwriter. I think you are really going to enjoy this episode and it was a nice change of pace from the normal episodes. Music and Golf are well connected in the emotions of life and it was nice to reconnect and discuss both.

In the latest episode, I sat down with Chaz Smithson from Holy Cow Soils. Holy Cow Soils (formerly Southern Nurseries) is a Landscape supply and Bulk Material distributor in Hendersonville, TN. Chaz is the Product and Facilities Manager and is vital to the day to day operations and the success of Holy Cow Soils. We had a fun interview about what he does and the ends and outs of the Landscape industry. This content was new to the podcast and one I was exited to cover. I hope you enjoyed it as well.
